What is Subcision?

It is a minimally surgical process created to treat scars of acne, usually, rolling scars that form a wave kind of texture on the skin. The process includes utilizing a specialized needle inserted through tiny cuts to break fibrous bands of scar tissue that pull down the skin and create depression. This method boosts the formation of collagen and permits the skin to lift which results in a smoother appearance.

How is the method carried out?

The process works by focusing on the structural cause of Scar Removal Dubai. The needle cuts through the scars, releasing the tension and permitting the skin to promote naturally. This method also triggers the body’s recovery response, stimulating the formation of new collagen and elastin, which are important for rejuvenated and refreshed skin.

Treatment for Acne Scar

Treatment options range from lasers, and minor surgical procedures to dermal fillers, chemical peels and dermabrasion. Usually, it requires a combination of technologies to deliver the best results.

  • Fraxel Laser – an alternative to fractional CO2, it is less aggressive but fine for most skin types.
  • Smoothbeam/Excel V Laser: These lasers stimulate collagen production which naturally fills in scars for a more even texture.
  • Dermarollers – an alternative to the fractional CO2. The Dermaroller uses needles to penetrate the skin to stimulate collagen much like fractional technology.
  • Dermabrasion – a common treatment for “sanding down” acne scars and stimulating collagen. At Contour, we perform Vibradermabrasion with textured paddles, not crystals.
  • TCA Chemical Peel – can help improve the appearance of rolling or depressed acne scars.
  • Injectable dermal fillers – can be considered for some scars and last anywhere from six months to one year.

  • Subcision – can elevate a scar and also stimulate collagen to prevent the scar from looking indented.

  • Punch Elevation is used to lift a scar with a punch biopsy scalpel and suture the tissue in place.

  • Punch Graft involves a graft of skin from a donor site such as behind the ear. The risk with this method is that the donor site may not match the exact skin tone of the receiving area.

NOTE– As you can see there are many options for reducing the traumatic effects of acne. After all, our goal is to help you feel good about your skin again!
