Medicine Sales benefit from the flu outbreak 2023

Sales of anti-infective drugs increased 12.5% to 22,883 crore in February, according to PharmaTrac statistics. Based on Moving Yearly Turnover, respiratory medications saw an 8.1% increase last month to reach $14,880 crore (MAT).

The same data show that, based on MAT for February, sales of the antibiotic Augmentin from GSK increased by 26.1% to 766 crore. Analgesics, Cipla’s pain reliever, increased 10.7% to $12,898 crore, while Budecort, used to reduce lung inflammation, increased 23.3% to $385 crore.In India and abroad, doctors are observing an increase in influenza A, the viral flu.
